Board Games
Spacers Board Game
Spacers is a space adventure board game that I had been working on intermittently for nearly 7 years. It is a game all about giving the players the freedom to carve their own path to greatness. Board game design is the ultimate design challenge for me, as it combines art, graphic design, layout, typography, user interface, and creative writing. The process began with early prototyping back in 2015 (no photos, sadly). The game evolved greatly since then, gaining new features and options for the players to explore. Initially, players could take on various missions, gather raw materials for sale, trade cargo between planets, and do combat with each other or with other ships. Now, with the addition of random events, deep-space encounters, and unique planet features, Spacers feels like a true sci-fi ecosystem that players are free to explore in their own way. The game is available for purchase from The Game Crafter.

So, Who’s the Spy?
So, Who’s the Spy? is a two player game of bluffing and deduction. One player controls a spy who is mingling among the guests at a dinner party while incospicuously trying to complete objectives. The other player plays a sniper who is observing the party, hoping to deduce who the spy is by observing the movement of all the party guests. The spy must complete objectives while trying to blend in to the party, for the other guests will wander and meander around randomly and will sometimes either give the spy a crowd to hide amongst or leave the spy sticking out like a sore thumb. The sniper only gets one shot, and if they shoot the wrong guest, that means victory for the spy. The spy only has a short time to complete 2 of the 3 objectives, 2 of which are known to the sniper from the start. What results is a tense battle of memory and straight-faced deception.
Fantasy Adventure Game
This is a fantasy adventure game I have been working on that is currently untitled. The design is still in the concept phase, and mechanics are starting to become fleshed out. The game is one of exploration, discovery, and emergent gameplay. Players will wander around a randomly built map and discover locales, dungeons, and enemies. By deciding which story hooks to follow, the players will shape the narrative into one where the decisions they make early on will affect the end game. I want the game to have a look that immerses them in the medieval fantasy genre with every component they touch.
Best of the West inventory and character boards for Wily Beast Games
So far, this is the only tabletop game graphic design I have done that has earned me any money. It is also my earliest piece of design work for a tabletop game. After playtesting a game at a local game store, I took a photo of the player board and did my own redesign. I presented it to the designer the next time I saw him, and he decided to hire me to design and additional inventory board along with all of the different character boards. I wanted to keep a rustic, western look by utilizing lots of different textures and appropriate fonts. Not all of the font choices or colors were up to me, so I had to do some compromising in order to complete the pieces. Overall, I enjoyed the work, as it was my first time designing anything for tabletop gaming.

Sci-Fi Horror Tiles
This is a set of tiles I designed for a survival horror game of my own creation. The game will have a focus on making the players feel claustrophobic and isolated while trying to complete objectives in a twisting complex filled with biological horrors. So far, the tiles are the only components that have had any life breathed into them, and design is heavilly inspired by games like Space Hulk, Alien: Isolation, and the Level 7 series of board games.
