Logo/Branding Work

San Diego State University Climbing Club Logo

The San Diego State University Climbing Club wanted a new logo design that would attract the attention of new students while giving pride to the current members of the club. Being a student there myself at the time, I knew I wanted to reflect the Aztec identity with an illustration that really caught the eye. I combined this with some simple geometric elements that contrasted well with the more organic shapes of the illustration, and a bold font (Impact, admittedly…) to clearly inform the viewer as to whom the design belongs to. Overall, I think the finished design is fun and inspiring, which happens to reflect my experience as a member of the club.

Manis Pro Kneepad Logo, Branding, and Packaging

This project was fascilitated by Lavin Entrepreneur Center at San Diego State University. A group of students who were involved in the program were looking for a logo for their idea for a kneepad that featured a scale design inspired by the pangolin, a large scaled mammal. I based the logo on the shape of the pangolin’s scales and contrasted the natural shapes with the square containing box, as well as a balanced, sans-serif font. I incorporated the scale design into the rest of the branding elements that were applied to the rest of the deliverables, including a website and stationary set.

Rocksteady Stadium Speaker and Accessories

I came into this project as a marketing designer during my time at Killer Concepts, mostly designing web ads and helping with product mockups. However, about halfway through the development process for this product, I suggested a logo redesign to the CEO, which eventually saw me transition from designer to what can mostly be described as a brand manager position. I took charge of redesigning the logo, website, and overal brand identity of the Stadium speaker. With my direction, the brand took on a modern, clean look that was both subdued and eye catching. I gave the packaging a clean, eco-friendly appeal, and I even designed a carrying case that would hold 4 Stadium speakers at once. The full website can be found here: https://rocksteadyaudio.com/

Head Ups! Phone Stands

During my time at Killer Concepts, I not only did branding and packaging, but product design as well. This was a product for which I had a part in every step of the development. It started with the 3D modeling of the animal head designs, which I had zero experience with before being given this project. I had to communicate with the manufacturer in China and iterate on the designs over and over before we were happy with the product. Afterwards came color picking, branding, and packaging design. The latter stages were not given nearly as much time as the product design stage, so the brand is still a bit underdeveloped in my opinion, Overall, I am proud of this project as my first attempt on leading a project from start to finish.
