Head Ups! Phone Stands

This project was one of my first attempts at 3D modeling. They are silicone phone stands that suction to the back of your device. The concept was derived from another product that Killer Concepts produced called the Piggy Phone Stand. This project wanted to expand the product line and attract a broader audience. I was also involved in the branding of this product, which can be found on my Logos/Branding page. The process started with sketching and ended with color picking and coordination with the manufacturer in China. Rocksteady Stadium 4-count Carrying Case

I had never designed anything close to a carrying case before taking a stab at this project. My boss told me what features he wanted on the bag and it was up to me to make it appear. I began with sketches, made iterations, and spoke to the factory regarding materials, dimensions, colors, etc. Once we recieved the product I was also responsible for ensuring the samples were to our liking and for taking and editing the product photos. Piggy Vehicles Phone Stands

I took on this project during my time at Killer Concepts after having gained some experience from previous 3D modeling projects. We wanted to expand our Piggy Phone Stand accessory line to feature new designs that would bring in a broader consumer base. I started this project with sketching out concepts and narrowing down the selection to the most promising designs. I then moved on to 3D modeling and communicating with the manufacturer. Once the designs were finalized, we picked colors and I moved onto branding and pakcaging design, which can be found on my Logos/Branding page. The product can be found on Gamestop’s online store.

Piggy & Friends Phone Stands

This was my first real attempt at product design during my time at Killer Concepts, and actually the first expansion of the Piggy Phone Stand line. I was given the chance to concept as many different animal designs as I could manage, and we narrowed the selection down to the shapes that best fit the original Piggy shape (the pink one in the photo below). I started the process with sketching, but left the 3D modeling portion to the manufacturer. This was a long process with a ton of iteration, but we eventually found the shapes to be fun, functional, and still fitting with the Piggy brand. Overall, I love the final result.
